Aerial Hoop Apparel
When working on the hoop, chafing usually occurs in two places: in the hollows of your knees when you hook in, and at your waist as soon as the hoop creates pressure during spinning. A high waistband, like the one you'll find on our pole dance shorts and pants, supports the waist and creates a clear line along which the hoop won't slip. For floorwork and tricks on the ground, knee pads additionally protect delicate skin without restricting your movement. Most importantly, wear tight, stretchy clothing that won't slip when you're hanging upside down in the hoop – loose fabrics or a stretched-out waistband will interfere with every spin.
Aerial Acrobatics Apparel for Aerial Silks and Aerial Tissu
Aerial silk clothing must not get caught anywhere on the vertical silk when you wrap yourself – loose sleeves or a slipping neckline quickly become a problem here. Bodysuits made of elastic nylon, like those you find in our Bodysuits, fit snugly to the figure and stay in place even during spins and wraps. If you're looking for a bit more coverage, you'll find models with no neckline at the front – practical when there's a lot of skin contact with the fabric. Our Tops made of soft, stretchy material also hug the skin gently and move with you without slipping. This close fit is what makes a good aerial silk outfit.
Aerial Yoga Apparel
During Aerial Yoga, you often switch between deep stretches, inversions, and quiet holding positions in the hammock – your clothing needs to move with you without constricting. Our elastic pants reliably move with you, whether during warm-up, stretching, or turning, and maintain their shape. Our Mesh Shorts also conform to the body and swing with every movement without restricting. This way, the focus remains on breathing and stretching, not on a slipping waistband.
Aerial Acrobatics Suit and Outfit for Every Discipline
Whether it's hoops, silks, or yoga: a good aerial acrobatics outfit must above all deliver on its promises on the pole, in the silks, and on the hoop, rather than being a hindrance during training. At Lou's Polewear, our pieces are born from real training – developed by a pole dancer who knows exactly where fabric chafes and where it needs to stay put. This way, you'll find an aerial acrobatics outfit for every discipline that simply works in training.
Aerial Acrobatics Clothing FAQ
What clothing is suitable for aerial hoop?
A combination of high-waisted trousers or shorts and knee pads has proven effective to protect the waist and the backs of the knees when hooking into the apparatus. Tight, stretchy material is more important than a lot of fabric – this way, nothing slips when you're hanging upside down or sideways in the hoop.
What clothes do you wear for aerial silks?
For aerial silks, bodysuits or tight tops combined with shorts or trousers are suitable because no loose fabric can get caught in the silk. Styles with a little more coverage on the arms or front also protect against friction if you wrap yourself multiple times.
